Genesys - Emergency Medicine Residency

We strongly encourage you to apply to our program early. In addition, although not mandatory, we recommend that if at all possible you rotate or spend time in our department. We feel that the best candidates in any program are those that are educated in their decision making. There is no better way to know a program than to live it first hand. This way there are no surprises for the applicant or the program. Our philosophy is to create mature Emergency Medicine specialists that we would want to care for our family and friends. This means not only finding candidates that are intelligent, but that are great team players, work well with colleagues, and staff, and are seeking to become model specialists in their field.

Applicant Criteria:
1. Applicant must be a US Citizen.
2. USMLE or Comlex 1 & 2 must be passed on first attempt.
3. Scores will be considered along with all other application requirements.
4. Required Documents:
     a. 3 letters of recommendation (EM preferred)
     b. Transcripts
     c. Deans letter
     d. Valid ECFMG certificate for IMG's
     e. Valid drivers License
5. Application deadline is November 1, 2008

The process works like this...
•Apply to the program via ERAS
•We conduct rolling interviews. Once your application is complete it will be forwarded to our interview selection committee for review.
•Interviews will be held by invitation and generally are conducted between September and January.
